Job Overview

RwandAir Ltd, the national flag carrier airline of Rwanda, operates domestic and international services across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East from its hub at Kigali International Airport. As part of its expansion strategy, RwandAir is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Compensation Analyst to strengthen the airline’s total rewards competitiveness.

The role focuses on compensation analytics, market pricing, and pay structure design, delivering data-driven insights that support strategic workforce decisions. This position concentrates on compensation (not benefits administration) and works closely with HR, Finance, and business leaders to ensure external competitiveness and internal equity.


Key Responsibilities

Compensation & Analytics

  • Support the Manager, Compensation & Benefits, in developing and implementing total rewards initiatives aligned with HR strategy.

  • Conduct compensation benchmarking to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.

  • Maintain and update salary structures, pay scales, grades, and job descriptions in HRIS/ERP systems.

  • Translate market data into practical pay strategies supporting attraction and retention.

  • Prepare compensation scenario models for organizational and workforce changes.

  • Match roles to compensation surveys and price jobs by grade, job family, and location differentials.

  • Maintain salary ranges, midpoints, and structure movement recommendations.

  • Support merit planning, promotions, new-hire offers, and incentive eligibility analysis.

Reporting & Insights

  • Build and maintain compensation dashboards (Excel, Power BI, or equivalent).

  • Analyze compa-ratios, range penetration, pay equity, market movement, and budget impact.

  • Generate decision-ready insights and executive summaries for HR leadership and Finance.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements.

  • Maintain documentation and approvals related to compensation decisions.

  • Reconcile HRIS/ERP data and conduct pre- and post-cycle audits to ensure accuracy.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Finance, and Benefits teams.

  • Serve as an internal advisor on compensation-related queries.

  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend continuous improvements.

  • Contribute to HR transformation through data-driven and transparent pay practices.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
    (Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage).

  • Relevant professional experience in compensation, HR analytics, finance, or data analysis.

  • Experience using HRIS/ERP systems, payroll platforms, and analytical tools.

  • Exposure to job evaluation methodologies and compensation benchmarking.

  • Familiarity with compensation surveys such as Mercer, WTW, or Aon is an advantage.

  • Experience in aviation or multinational environments is an added advantage.


Skills & Personal Attributes

  • Strong analytical and data modeling skills (advanced Excel; Power BI preferred).

  • Ability to interpret compensation survey data and develop clear recommendations.

  • High attention to detail, discretion, and integrity.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration abilities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Curiosity, adaptability, and commitment to continuous improvement.
