Job Overview
King Faisal Hospital, Rwanda (KFH-R), a center of excellence in healthcare service provision, clinical education, and research, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Pharmacy Dispenser. The successful candidates will support safe, accurate, and patient-centered medication dispensing services within the hospital pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities
Dispense prescribed medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Accurately document all dispensing activities in the electronic medical system.
Provide patients with guidance on medication use, side effects, and storage conditions.
Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications.
Monitor medication stock levels and expiry dates.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and legal regulations.
Participate in pharmacy audits and inventory checks.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient-centered care.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma (A1 or A0) in General Nursing from a recognized institution.
Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in medication dispensing within a hospital or pharmacy setting.
Registered with a recognized professional body (e.g., National Council of Nurses and Midwives).
Experience in handling emergency cases is an added advantage.
Skills & Personal Attributes
Valid and up-to-date Registered Nurse (RN) practicing license.
Strong knowledge of medications, indications, contraindications, and dispensing practices.
Familiarity with medical insurance drug policies and procedures.
Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
