As the organization continues to grow, Vanguard Economics Foundation is seeking a motivated and creative Communications & Program Support Intern to support its communications, events, and program implementation activities.
Position Overview
The Communications & Program Support Intern will contribute to the Foundation’s communications and program delivery efforts, with a focus on digital storytelling, content creation, and event coordination. This internship is ideal for a proactive individual seeking hands-on experience in communications, youth development, and the non-profit sector.
Key Responsibilities
1. Communications & Digital Content
Support the creation and management of content for social media platforms.
Design and produce short video reels and visual content highlighting programs and impact.
Draft social media posts, blog articles, website content, and outreach materials.
Support documentation of programs and events through photos, videos, and short reports.
Contribute written content in both English and Kinyarwanda.
2. Event Management & Logistics Support
Support planning and delivery of an International Women’s Day event in Kigali.
Assist with participant coordination, invitations, and follow-up communication.
Liaise with venues, service providers, and participants.
Provide on-the-day event coordination support, including registration and logistics.
3. Program Support – Youth Social Entrepreneurship Program (YSEP)
Support logistics planning and coordination for YSEP activities.
Assist with communication and coordination related to program implementation.
Support preparation and delivery of the YSEP Graduation event scheduled for February 2026.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Strong interest in communications, social media, and development work.
Experience or demonstrated skills in digital content creation or social media management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Proactive, positive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience supporting events, workshops, or conferences is an advantage.
Basic skills in graphic design or video editing tools (e.g., Canva, CapCut, Adobe tools).
Interest in youth empowerment, gender equality, entrepreneurship, or social impact.
Supervision
The Intern will work under the supervision of the Executive Director and Program Manager of Vanguard Economics Foundation.
