Position Overview

SOLACE Ministries is seeking a committed and experienced Trainer to support Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs in Jali Sector, Gasabo District. The Trainer will focus on strengthening the capacity of ECD caregivers and enhancing collaboration between caregivers and parents to promote quality early learning.

This role is primarily field-based, with approximately 80% of time spent in ECD centers, directly supporting caregivers and parents. The remaining time will involve planning, reporting, reflection, and coordination activities.


Key Functions (Curated Summary)

  • Support caregivers and parents in delivering quality early childhood education

  • Promote holistic child development across cognitive, physical, emotional, and social domains

  • Encourage inclusive, child-centered learning environments

  • Facilitate collaboration and networking among caregivers, parents, and community stakeholders

  • Identify skills gaps and support measurable improvements in caregiving practices


Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver approved Quality Education training modules to caregivers

  • Provide ongoing mentorship and technical support to caregivers and parents

  • Collect accurate field data and prepare timely progress and activity reports

  • Support community involvement initiatives related to education and child protection

  • Promote children’s rights and protection awareness among caregivers and parents

  • Build strong relationships with schools, families, and education stakeholders

  • Collaborate effectively with team members and support colleagues

  • Perform additional administrative or work-related duties as assigned by the Line Manager


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Sociology, or a related field

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a trainer in Early Childhood Development or a similar role

  • Strong understanding of early childhood learning and development principles


Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to assess learning needs and identify skills gaps

  • Knowledge of various teaching and facilitation methods

  • Strong organizational and planning skills

  • Ability to work independently in a field-based environment

  • Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach
