Position: Assistant Food & Beverages Manager
Grand Legacy Hotel invites qualified and motivated candidates to apply for the position of Assistant Food & Beverages Manager.
Position Summary
The Assistant Food & Beverages (F&B) Manager supports the leadership and management of all Food and Beverage operations within the hotel. The role aims to deliver exceptional guest experiences, maximize revenue and profitability, and ensure full compliance with quality, hygiene, health, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management & Quality Control
Supervise daily operations across all F&B outlets to ensure smooth service delivery and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Conduct regular quality checks on service areas, food presentation, and beverage standards in line with the hotel’s brand expectations.
Assist in managing inventory, controlling waste and breakages, and coordinating ordering and receiving of supplies.
Handle guest complaints professionally and promptly, ensuring effective service recovery and high reopening.
2. Financial Performance & Cost Control
Monitor food, beverage, and labor costs to ensure operations remain within approved budgets.
Support revenue enhancement initiatives, including upselling and promotional strategies.
Assist the F&B Manager in preparing daily and monthly financial reports, sales analyses, and performance reviews.
3. Team Leadership & Human Resources
Support recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management of F&B staff.
Deliver continuous training on service excellence, product knowledge, and health & safety compliance.
Motivate, coach, and support staff to achieve departmental objectives and maintain a positive work environment.
Assist in managing disciplinary actions and resolving staff conflicts in collaboration with HR and the F&B Manager.
4. Compliance, Health & Safety
Ensure all F&B operations comply with local regulations, licensing requirements, and food safety standards such as HACCP.
Enforce strict hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices across all preparation and service areas.
Oversee cash handling procedures, POS operations, and security protocols to safeguard guests, staff, and company assets.
5. Banquets & Events Management
Support the planning and execution of banquets, conferences, and catered events.
Act as a liaison between the Sales & Events team, kitchen, and service teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
Ensure all events meet client expectations in terms of quality, service, and setup.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years’ progressive experience in Food & Beverage operations.
At least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role within a full-service hotel or restaurant.
Certifications
Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP).
Responsible alcohol service certification is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
Proficiency in POS systems and basic inventory/cost control software.
Customer-focused mindset with a passion for service excellence.
