GPI Rwanda Project
In Rwanda, GPI will implement the project titled:
“School-Based Integrated Nutrition and Hygiene Improvement Project in Nyamata and Mayange, Rwanda.”
The project aims to:
Improve the nutritional quality of school meals and the hygiene environment
Enhance community awareness and adoption of healthy behaviors
GPI Rwanda is seeking a passionate and experienced Project Officer to support effective project implementation and contribute to improved nutrition and hygiene outcomes for schoolchildren.
Position Details
Job Title: Project Officer (PO)
Duty Station: Nyamata Sector, Bugesera District
Employment Period: January 19, 2026 – December 18, 2026 (11 months)
Salary Range: Negotiable
Key Responsibilities
Implement project activities and support monitoring, performance management, and evaluation to ensure project objectives are achieved
Coordinate and communicate closely with key stakeholders, including schools, local authorities, and partners
Support the Project Manager in day-to-day project operations, including planning, implementation, and reporting
Contribute to effective documentation, reporting, and learning processes
Required Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the public health sector
Experience working with an NGO or development organization is strongly preferred
Qualifications and Competencies
Strong commitment to Good People International’s mission and values
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, or a related field
Proven experience managing nutrition-related projects, including school-based nutrition and WASH initiatives
Knowledge of school gardens and chicken rearing (preferred)
Experience in social and behavior change communication at community level (preferred)
High level of self-motivation, initiative, and professional integrity
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda
Proficiency in computer applications relevant to project management
