Job Overview
RwandAir Ltd, the flag carrier airline of Rwanda, is seeking a Licenced Aircraft Engineer – Structures to enhance aircraft performance, availability, and continued airworthiness. This role provides expert front-line resolution of structural technical issues, supports aircraft recovery in case of structural defects, and contributes to the development of Rwandan nationals in aviation maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Approve and perform scheduled and unscheduled structural maintenance on sheet metal and composite components.
Inspect aircraft structures for damage, wear, or corrosion, and carry out repairs in compliance with SRM, AMM, and OEM manuals.
Manage major structural repair or modification projects and ensure proper documentation.
Provide technical guidance to line personnel on structural repairs to minimize aircraft downtime.
Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, and other maintenance teams to implement repair schemes.
Supervise, train, and develop staff to ensure high-quality service delivery and succession planning.
Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and data protection standards across maintenance operations.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma, Trade, Vocational qualification, or Degree (B.Eng., BSc) in Aircraft Engineering or Maintenance.
ICAO, EASA, FAAA, or RCAA aircraft license.
Minimum 5 years’ experience as an aircraft structure mechanic or engineer in commercial aviation.
Strong knowledge of SRM, AMM, IPC, and OEM structural repair processes.
Skills & Personal Attributes
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
Ability to determine and operate required equipment and tools.
Strong understanding of technical manuals, engineering drawings, and work-related documents.
Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
