VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT – PAYABLES ACCOUNTANT

Nyungwe Management Company Ltd (NMC Ltd) was established through a management agreement between the Government of Rwanda (via RDB) and African Parks Network to oversee the management of Nyungwe National Park for a 20-year period beginning in October 2020.
NMC Ltd is seeking qualified and motivated Rwandan nationals to fill the position of Payables Accountant. Ideal candidates must be dependable, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently.
Job Title: Payables Accountant
Reporting to: Chief Accountant
Role Purpose
The Payables Accountant will support daily finance operations by executing foundational accounting tasks. The role focuses on managing accounts payable, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely account reconciliation. Additionally, the position supports tax computations and declarations to ensure compliance with financial procedures and regulations.
Key Responsibilities (not exhaustive)
Conduct monthly supplier account reconciliations and promptly address discrepancies.
Assist in preparing financial and statistical reports as required.
Analyze financial information to detect and resolve variations.
Apply accounting policies, standards, and regulatory requirements in all tasks.
Prepare routine summaries and financial documentation.
Record supplier invoices accurately in the Serenic Navigator accounting system using the approved chart of accounts.
Maintain confidentiality and protect the integrity of all financial data.
Perform any other tasks reasonably assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
High proficiency in computer applications, especially advanced Microsoft Excel.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Compliance-focused with basic auditing skills.
High level of integrity and professional conduct.
Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda.
Added Advantage
Completion of at least CPA or ACCA intermediate level (Part II).
Knowledge and experience in tax matters.
