Job Overview
Salvo Grima Rwanda Ltd is seeking an energetic and qualified Logistics Assistant to support the Logistics Department by managing and coordinating supply chain activities. The successful candidate will be based in Kigali and will report directly to the Operations Manager while working closely with other departments.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain records of shipments, inventory, and provide administrative support for logistics operations.
Organize transportation routes and ensure timely delivery of shipments.
Assist in preparing shipping documents, bills of lading, and invoices.
Work with vendors and logistics providers to ensure cost-effective transportation.
Track and monitor shipments and resolve logistics-related issues.
Plan incoming goods, including order placement and transport arrangements.
Liaise with customs clearance agents and ensure proper import documentation.
Ensure all clearance and import documents are correctly filed for future reference.
Supervise outgoing goods, including delivery planning and depot replenishments.
Coordinate weekly SOP meetings with management and relevant departments for stock ordering.
Manage products stored in bonded warehouses (DPW).
Update stock movements accurately and regularly.
Handle product registration with relevant authorities (RFDA, RICA, etc.).
Perform any other duties reasonably required within the role.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Management, Business/Public Administration, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
Professional certification or license in Supply Chain/Logistics is an added advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda (French is an advantage).
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
