Job Overview
RwandAir Ltd, the national flag carrier airline of Rwanda, operates domestic and international services across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East from its hub at Kigali International Airport. As part of its expansion strategy, RwandAir is seeking a qualified and experienced IOCC Duty Manager – Ground Services.
The role is responsible for coordinating and monitoring all ground operations to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time flight operations. The position serves as a critical link between the Integrated Operations Control Center (IOCC) and ground handling teams.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and coordinate RwandAir and customer airlines’ flight schedules to minimize delays and disruptions.
Communicate operational issues and updates across all operations departments and the IOCC team.
Collect, analyze, and disseminate information to support timely and efficient flight operations.
Ensure compliance with applicable aviation regulations, safety standards, and industry requirements.
Monitor ramp operations and report inconsistencies, incidents, and recurring operational issues.
Ensure corrective actions are implemented for identified non-compliances within agreed timelines.
Report safety hazards, incidents, security threats, and occurrences in line with the Safety Management System (SMS).
Coordinate with airport ground controllers to assign suitable aircraft parking bays, prioritizing passenger safety and comfort.
Liaise with the Ramp Handling Manager and other ground handling stakeholders to ensure effective resource utilization and SLA compliance.
Contribute to the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and quality control measures for ground handling operations.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in any field or an IATA Diploma.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in airline ground operations.
At least 2 years’ experience in supervisory, turnaround, or operational coordination roles.
Strong understanding of ground handling and ramp operations.
Proficiency in Departure Control Systems (DCS) and other relevant operational software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English or French.
