Description

The Data Protection Officer will oversee data privacy and protection at LTGS Rwanda PLC. They will ensure compliance with data protection laws, develop privacy policies, monitor data handling, and provide guidance to staff on personal data security and risk mitigation.

Requirements

Education: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree (A0) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Law, or related fields. Certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or ISO 27001 lead auditor are highly preferred.

Experience: Applicants should have 3–7 years of experience in data protection, privacy compliance, or IT governance, including implementing privacy frameworks, audits, and risk assessments. Experience in corporate or regulated environments is essential.

Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are required. The candidate should be able to interpret data protection laws, train teams, and manage privacy incidents effectively.

Technical Competence: Proficiency in data privacy tools, data mapping, cybersecurity measures, and compliance software is essential. Familiarity with GDPR, local privacy regulations, and IT security standards is required.

Personal Attributes: The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, ethical, proactive, and results-driven, with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with teams and ensure organizational compliance with data protection standards.
