Position: Waiter / Waitress
Grand Legacy Hotel invites qualified and motivated candidates to apply for the position of Waiter / Waitress.
Position Summary
The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for delivering prompt, professional, and welcoming food and beverage service to hotel guests. The role represents the hotel’s dining operations and ensures guest satisfaction through excellent service delivery, menu knowledge, attention to detail, and strict adherence to hygiene and presentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Guest Service & Order Taking
Greet and seat guests promptly in a friendly and professional manner.
Present menus and explain daily specials, promotions, or buffet options.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and dietary considerations.
Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them promptly into the Point of Sale (POS) system.
Upsell menu items such as appetizers, premium beverages, and desserts to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
Respond to guest inquiries regarding hotel facilities and nearby attractions.
2. Service Execution
Serve food and beverages efficiently using proper service techniques.
Continuously monitor tables by refilling beverages, clearing used dishes, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the meal.
Support breakfast operations by setting up buffet stations, replenishing food, and clearing tables during peak hours.
Process payments accurately, including verifying guest details for “charge to room” transactions.
3. Mise-en-Place & Hygiene
Strictly adhere to HACCP guidelines and all food safety and hygiene procedures.
Prepare dining areas before service, including polishing cutlery and glassware, folding napkins, and arranging tables.
Ensure side stations are well stocked with required supplies throughout the shift.
Maintain cleanliness in dining areas and service pantries at all times.
Uphold excellent personal grooming and comply with the hotel’s uniform and appearance standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Certificate in hospitality or food and beverage service is an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hotel or full-service restaurant is preferred.
Motivated entry-level candidates may be considered and trained.
Language
Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required.
Knowledge of an additional language is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods and carry service trays.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
High attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
Basic proficiency in POS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Working Conditions
Rotational shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Fast-paced hospitality environment with exposure to hot food and beverages.
Flexibility in working hours is essential.
