King Faisal Hospital Kigali is seeking a qualified and motivated professional to fill the position below:
POSITION
Nutritionist
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree (A0) in Nutrition / Dietetics
Minimum of 1–3 years of working experience in a complex hospital setting
Proven experience in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics practice
Must be registered and licensed by the Health Professions Council of Rwanda (HPCR) as a Clinical Nutritionist/Dietitian
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to deliver nutrition services effectively and efficiently in line with patient needs
Strong understanding of interactions between medications and nutrition, including appropriate timing of food intake relative to drug administration
Comprehensive knowledge of nutrition principles and the health impacts of inadequate or inappropriate nutrition on recovery, disease prevention, and overall well-being
Ability to assess and manage nutritional implications of congenital or acquired enzyme deficiencies and metabolic disorders
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret detailed clinical information
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Teaching and management skills are an added advantage
Knowledge of health and safety standards is an added advantage
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments following established clinical guidelines
Develop, document, and implement individualized nutrition care plans
Provide safe, evidence-based nutritional counseling and patient education using culturally appropriate approaches
Monitor and manage nutrition-related risks associated with medications and clinical treatments
Identify and report unsafe practices or environments affecting patients or staff in line with hospital safety protocols
Practice strictly within the approved scope of Dietetics practice in Rwanda
Support monitoring and continuous improvement of dietetic services within the hospital
Adhere to institutional peer review, credentialing, and professional regulatory requirements
