JOB OPPORTUNITY: DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Jonathan Foundation Academy
Jonathan Foundation Academy is seeking a highly qualified, experienced, and mission-driven Director of Operations to lead the successful launch and ongoing management of its new boarding school. The Academy will serve 300 high-achieving students from vulnerable backgrounds, all of whom have earned full scholarships.
This is a senior leadership position requiring strong operational expertise, integrity, and a deep commitment to educational excellence and social impact.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all operational aspects of a newly established boarding school
Ensure smooth day-to-day operations across academic, residential, and administrative functions
Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams in alignment with the Academy’s mission and standards
Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and systems that promote student safety, learning, and wellbeing
Represent the Academy at official events and deliver speeches or lectures to large audiences when required
Work closely with senior leadership and external partners to ensure long-term institutional sustainability
Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in both Education and Management, or an equivalent dual qualification
Minimum of 8 years’ professional experience spanning education and management
Demonstrated leadership experience within a school or a comparable institution
Proven ability to speak confidently and effectively before large audiences
Fluency in English, French, and Kinyarwanda (spoken and written)
Currently employed in a relevant professional role
