About the Organization
Icyerekezo SACCO Nyarugenge is a Savings and Credit Cooperative established on 10th December 2024 and licensed by the National Bank of Rwanda following the merger of ten (10) Umurenge SACCOs in Nyarugenge District and two sub-branches.
Headquartered in Nyakabanda Sector, the SACCO aims to provide reliable and accessible financial services to its members and clients.
Position Overview
The Loan Officer is responsible for managing the full loan cycle, including client engagement, loan analysis, disbursement monitoring, and recovery of loans, while ensuring compliance with credit policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Explain loan products, eligibility criteria, and application procedures to clients
Collect, verify, and process loan application documents
Conduct field visits to assess collateral and project feasibility
Safeguard loan collateral and prepare required documentation
Monitor loan utilization and ensure proper use of funds
Track loan repayment performance and support recovery of non-performing loans (NPLs)
Negotiate repayment plans with delinquent clients
Prepare documentation for loan restructuring, refinancing, and rescheduling
Maintain accurate loan records and documentation
Provide financial advice and credit awareness to members
Assess borrower creditworthiness and repayment capacity
Prepare loan agreements and implement Credit Committee decisions
Generate reports on loan portfolio performance and provisioning
Support improvements in loan policies and risk management
Participate in training and professional development activities
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in:
Accounting
Finance
Business Administration
Economics
Management
Entrepreneurship or Commerce
(First or Second Class Upper Division is an added advantage)
Minimum 3 years of experience in banking or microfinance
Maximum age: 35 years
Strong knowledge of:
Lending procedures and credit risk management
Banking operations and financial regulations
Technical skills:
Proficiency in computer applications and banking systems
Strong numerical and financial analysis skills
Core competencies:
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Language requirements:
Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda
French is an added advantage
Must be ready to start work immediately
