Job Overview
RwandAir Ltd, the national flag carrier airline of Rwanda, operates domestic and international services across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East from its hub at Kigali International Airport. As part of its expansion strategy, RwandAir is seeking a qualified and experienced Manager, Technology Services to lead and manage the airline’s IT infrastructure and technology operations.
The role is responsible for overseeing all core IT infrastructure components, ensuring reliability, security, scalability, and cost-effective operations to support airline systems and business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and support RwandAir’s ICT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, databases, and airline systems.
Design and enforce secure user access across the IT infrastructure.
Develop and implement robust backup, disaster recovery, and failover solutions.
Lead implementation and optimization of modern IT-based communication systems, including call center omni-channel solutions.
Oversee IT helpdesk support for airline systems (including PSS, BRS, and related platforms).
Manage and supervise the user support team to ensure service delivery in line with agreed SLAs.
Conduct proactive needs assessments to identify future IT infrastructure requirements.
Monitor system performance and reliability, collecting statistics and producing technical reports.
Administer Linux operating systems and Microsoft Windows environments.
Manage Microsoft applications including Active Directory, Exchange Server, and collaboration tools.
Administer NetApp storage systems and oversee backup and virtual machine replication between primary and secondary sites.
Plan equipment lifecycle management, including replacement and upgrades of IT assets.
Prepare weekly and monthly infrastructure performance reports for the Director of IT.
Manage relationships with external IT service providers and ensure compliance with SLAs.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience managing and implementing IT projects.
At least 3–4 years’ experience managing complex IT infrastructure environments.
Demonstrated experience with virtualization technologies, both on-premise and cloud-based.
Skills & Personal Attributes
Strong experience managing Microsoft Windows Servers and Red Hat Linux servers.
Solid understanding of cloud-based infrastructure deployments.
Proven experience managing virtualized environments using VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, or similar platforms.
Strong analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
Working knowledge of database management is an added advantage.
Excellent time management, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
