The company is currently implementing a project with GIZ to establish a training center at Rwanda Polytechnic (RP) – Huye College, focused on upskilling metalworkers in Rwanda and advancing technical industry standards.
Position Overview
The Technical Trainer will support delivery of technical and practical training modules in metalwork and mechanical operations.
The role ensures:
High-quality training delivery (theory and practice)
Effective supervision of trainees
Safe and professional workshop operations
The position works closely with the Lead Technical Trainer and other trainers to ensure balanced workload and consistent delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery
Deliver and support technical training across assigned modules
Supervise trainees during practical workshop sessions
Ensure safe use of tools and machinery
Integrate theory with hands-on practice
Technical & Practical Tasks
Lead safety, hygiene, and housekeeping training
Conduct technical drawing interpretation demonstrations
Supervise production tasks (filing, drilling, marking, machining)
Co-lead assembly sessions (fitting, fastening, alignment)
Conduct quality control inspections during finishing works
Oversee high-risk machine operations (lathe, milling, drilling)
Support PPE training, first aid, and ergonomic practices
Student Support & Assessment
Deliver employability skills training:
job applications
communication
interview preparation
Conduct industrial visits and monitor student progress
Evaluate competencies and support final assessments
Maintain training records and logbooks
Supplementary Responsibilities
Facilitate and oversee examinations
Prepare project reports
Support project coordination tasks
Assist in establishing and equipping the training workshop
Organize networking and information events
Promote employment opportunities and industry partnerships
Qualifications & Experience
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in:
Mechanical Engineering
Industrial Engineering
Professional Experience
Minimum 4 years of industrial mechanical experience
At least 2 years in machining operations (lathe, milling, drilling)
Experience in:
assembly and maintenance
fitting and alignment work
Minimum:
2 years teaching technical drawing
3 years delivering practical training in TVET or related field
Language Requirements
English: C1 level (business proficiency)
Kinyarwanda: B2 level (fluent)
Technical Skills
Basic knowledge of CAD software
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Familiarity with workshop documentation tools
