Position Title: PPC Manager / Country PPC Head

Department: Production Planning & Control (PPC)
Reports To: Global Head of Manufacturing
Duty Station: Kenya / Uganda / Rwanda / Nigeria (Country Plant Level)
Employment Type: Full-Time


Position Overview

The Country PPC Head is responsible for end-to-end Production Planning & Control (PPC) activities at the country-level assembly plant. The role ensures accurate demand planning, effective MRP execution, disciplined production scheduling, inventory control, and timely ERP reporting.

The position works closely with the Global Head – PPC to ensure strict adherence to global PPC standards, accurate system transactions, and smooth coordination across production, supply chain, and finance teams.


Key Responsibilities

1. Country-Level PPC Leadership

  • Lead PPC operations at the country plant in alignment with global PPC strategy.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly production plans based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and plant capacity.

  • Ensure compliance with standardized global PPC processes and planning discipline.

2. Demand Planning & MRP Execution

  • Collect, validate, and translate sales forecasts into material and production requirements.

  • Execute MRP runs and ensure:

    • Planned orders are generated for all demand.

    • Planned orders are reviewed, adjusted, and converted into production orders or purchase requisitions.

  • Resolve MRP exceptions to ensure timely material availability.

3. Production Order Management

  • Create, release, and prioritize production orders based on capacity, material availability, and delivery commitments.

  • Monitor daily order progress and communicate risks or delays to the Global Head – PPC.

4. Material Management & Inventory Control

  • Ensure timely posting of component goods issues (GI) to inventory and general ledger.

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid stock-outs and excess inventory.

  • Coordinate with warehouse teams for material issuance, kitting, and staging.

  • Support physical stock counts and cycle counting activities.

5. Production Execution & ERP Confirmation

  • Ensure accurate ERP posting for:

    • Production confirmations

    • Finished Goods (FG) receipts

  • Validate WIP accuracy, consumption posting, and batch traceability.

  • Ensure all production transactions are closed daily.

6. Order Settlement & Cost Tracking

  • Ensure production orders are settled and posted to the general ledger within required timelines.

  • Coordinate with Finance on production variances, consumption accuracy, and cost analysis.

  • Report deviations and abnormalities to the Global Head – PPC.

7. Master Data Management

  • Maintain accuracy of plant-level master data, including:

    • Bills of Materials (BOMs)

    • Routings

    • Work centers

    • Cycle times and capacities

  • Provide feedback to global master data teams for corrections and improvements.

8. Coordination & Reporting

  • Work closely with production, quality, warehouse, procurement, and finance teams.

  • Participate in global PPC review meetings and present country-level performance.

  • Maintain and submit:

    • Daily production vs. plan dashboards

    • Inventory health and shortage reports

    • Weekly MRP status and exception reports

9. People Management

  • Lead and mentor the country PPC team.

  • Train staff on ERP usage, MRP processes, and planning accuracy.

  • Implement global PPC process standardization at the plant level.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Production Planning & Control within automotive, engineering, manufacturing, or EV industries.

  • Strong hands-on experience with MRP systems and ERP platforms (SAP, Odoo, Oracle, MS Dynamics, or similar).

  • Solid understanding of BOMs, routings, scheduling, and inventory control.

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and planning tools.

  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

Preferred Qualification:

  • MBA in Operations Management or Supply Chain Management.

  • Inventory Days on Hand (DOH) and inventory turnover

  • Production order closure and settlement cycle time

  • WIP and finished goods inventory accuracy
